As the top-tier CPU from the new AMD Ryzen 7000 Series, the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X delivers on high performance. In fact, AMD promise it’s currently the fastest gaming CPU on the market (at time of launch). Boasting sixteen cores and thirty-two threads, this processor utilises SMT (simultaneous multithreading technology) to optimise performance during heavy workloads. Base frequencies for this processor are 4.5GHz, but this can be boosted up to 5.7GHz with the use of Precision Boost 2 or Precision Boost Overdrive.

For memory, AM5 will support DDR5 RAM modules, with maximum memory speeds up to 5200 MT/s. Additionally, a memory overclocking program has been developed specifically for the AMD Ryzen 7000 Series and DDR5, called AMD EXPO. This will offer optimised, on-click overclocking that can enhance 1080p gaming by 11% and reduce latency by up to 63ns.
